The win gave USF (10-6-2, 4-2-0 WCC) its 10th win of the season, marking the most since 2006 when the team won 12 matches. The win also secured the Dons at least a share of third place in the conference, their highest finish since 2008 when they won the conference.
The Dons did not waste much time to get on the board against Pacific (3-14-0, 1-5-0 WCC). In the seventh minute,
Davi Ramos took a pass in the right flat from
Jonathan Fabulich, turned and one timed it past the diving Pacific goalkeeper Josh Adachi for the score.
It was Ramos' third goal of the season and his first game since Oct. 5 against Loyola Marymount.
USF nearly tracked on another goal when in the 17th minute
Bryce Kaminski got a pass from
Danny Kirkland in the penalty box, turned and fired but it went just over the crossbar.
Only seconds later, Fabulich got a ball in the right flat, dribbled through a defender and went on-eon-one with Adachi to find the ball of the net and gave the Dons a 2-0 lead.
Fabulich, along with Ramos, finished with three points.
Kaminski tried to get on the board again in the 28th minute when he received a pass near the penalty kick line from
Aaron Lombardi and drilled it off Adachi and the rebound found its way to Kirkland who fired but it went wide.
The freshman midfielder was finally able to get on the board in the 36th minute when Kirkland raced to the left end line and found Kaminski in the center of the box who found an opening in the left corner for the goal to give the Dons a commanding 3-0 lead.
Kaminski took four shots with two on goal for the night. As a team, San Francisco took 24 shots with nine on goal against Pacific.
The Dons were on the attack again just after the half and had a good chance when Lombardi rose to head a
David Romney cross but hit was poked away by Adachi.
San Francisco kept up the pressure throughout the half and cashed in again when Fabulich found an opening near the end line and his shot ricocheted off Adachi and right to
KJ Ahlo at the goal line for the chip-in goal. It was his first career goal.
With
Chase Hauser sitting out due to a red card her picked up against San Diego,
Treston Kederer got his first career start and had four saves in the win.
The match, which was originally scheduled for Nov. 2 at Pacific, was postponed due to the conditions of the playing field to today but had to be relocated due to similar conditions on the field.
The Dons will play their final match of the season on Saturday as they host Santa Clara on Senior Night.
