LOS ANGELES - The USF men's soccer team played the second of their two preseason exhibitions, falling at UCLA 2-1 on Saturday evening. David Garrett notched the Dons' goal after scoring on a corner kick from Aaron Lombardi in the 81st minute.
UCLA took a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute when Larry Ndjock took a through ball in the box and chipped it over USF keeper Ryan Buckingham for the score.
Garrett's goal tied the match at 1-1, but the stalemate would not last long as the Bruins' William Cline chipped in the game winner in the 83rd minute after taking a pass into the box.
The match was played with three 45-minute periods.
Buckingham and Andre Glasnovic each recorded a save in goal for the Dons. Juan Cervantes notched three saves for the Bruins.
With the exhibition slate complete, the Dons now return to training in preparation for their regular season opener at Penn State on Aug. 28.
