SAN FRANCISCO -- The Dons (2-8-0) travel to Albuquerque on Wednesday to meet the 21st-ranked New Mexico Lobos (5-2-1) with kickoff slated for 6 p.m. Pacific time. This will conclude nonconference play for the Dons, who will then open up West Coast Conference action on Sunday, Oct. 11 at Santa Clara. LAST TIME OUT: The Dons are coming off consecutive losses this past week - a 2-1 overtime defeat at home against CSU Bakersfield this past Thursday, followed by a 3-1 loss at UC Davis on Sunday. Against the CSUB Roadrunners, Sean Bowman gave the Dons a lead right before halftime with a goal in the 44th minute where he rebounded a blocked shot from Kevin De La Torre and punched it in from about 10 yards out in traffic. However, CSUB's Julian Zamora converted a penalty kick in the 61st minute that was the result of an inadvertent hand ball by USF in the box, helping CSUB tie the match at 1-1. Then, early in the first overtime period, CSUB's Christian Duarte scored the golden goal game winner in the 92nd minute. Then, at UC Davis, USF fell behind 1-0 when the Aggies scored in the 26th minute. However, Bryce Kaminski netted his first goal of the season off an assist from Manny Padilla that setup Kaminski with a one-on-one with the keeper, which he converted to tie the match at 1-1 in the 30th minute. However, an evenly-matched first half gave way to a second half dominated by UC Davis where the Aggies added two more goals and outshot the Dons by a 17-1 margin.
