SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco's men's tennis team started off strong in the first half of the match, but could not execute in singles play as the Dons fell to West Coast Conference foe, Gonzaga 4-1 at the Olympic Club.

The Bulldogs (11-5, 2-1 WCC) collected the first doubles win of the match at No. 2 over Ryan Marker and Phuc Huynh, 6-2. Moments later, Nitzan Ricklis and Romeo Jivraj notched their fourth doubles victory as a duo at No. 3, after winning a solid battle between Simon Homedes and Emilio Moreno, 6-5. Bulldogs' No. 3 Sam Feit and Ruadhan O'Sullivan defeated Paul Giraud and Oz Daniel, 7-6(5) to clinch the doubles point.

Gonzaga headed into singles play with a 1-0 advantage. The Bulldogs didn't overlook the Dons after winning in the No. 1, 6 and 4 spots. Huynh and Jivraj at No. 4 and 6 put their opponents to the test after taking it to three tough sets, but the Bulldogs kept fighting and secured victories to close out the very last sets, 6-1. USF's only win came at the No. 3 spot when Ricklis dominated Kyle Everly in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5. Ricklis now leads the team with an 8-4 dual record and a 3-1 WCC singles record.
