SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Returning home to the Hilltop to continue WCC action, the University of San Francisco men's soccer team (6-2-2, 0-1 WCC) will face their first ranked opponent of the fall when they welcome No. 9 Portland (7-0-3, 1-0 WCC) to Negoesco Stadium on Saturday night.
Notably, this matchup against the Pilots will mark the second match of a doubleheader as USF will celebrate Alumni Appreciation Day on Saturday. First, the USF women's soccer team will battle 2021 College Cup finalist Santa Clara at 4:00 pm before the men's team squares off against Portland in the nightcap.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- Junior Eric Waltz has been a stronghold in goal for the Dons as the San Jose native currently leads the conference in save percentage (.795) as well as ranking second in the WCC in total saves (35).
- Over the course of the season, the Dons have collectively scored 19 goals by nine different players, showing their abundance of talent on the offensive side of the ball as five of those players have recorded three goals each.
- On average, USF fires 15.1 shots per game, good for first in the conference. Individually, graduate student Domininc Valdivia currently sits in fourth in the WCC with 28 total shots on the year.
SCOUTING THE PILOTS:
- Coming into the match at number nine in the country, the Pilots have stayed undefeated through ten matches so far this season as Portland is the only team from the WCC currently ranked inside of the NCAA top 25.
- Offensively, the Pilots are led by Brandon Cambridge, who leads UP with 16 points six goals and five assists. In their last match against Saint Mary's, Cambridge scored the game winner to push Portland past the Gaels in a 2-1 victory.
- Overall, Portland has had six different players earn the title of WCC Offensive or Defensive Player of the Week during the 2022 season: Brandon Cambridge, Gurman Sangha, George Tasouris, Delentz Pierre, Kevin Bonilla and CJ Tibbling.
SERIES HISTORY:
- USF currently holds a 24-22-5 advantage over Portland in the all-time series, including a 13-8-5 mark at home. In their last matchup, the Pilots narrowly defeated the Dons, 1-0, to close out the 2021 regular season.
