DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • After squaring off in the preseason, San Francisco got the best of nationally-ranked Stanford for the second year in a row as the Dons blanked the nation's No. 2 team 2-0 in their last time out on Thursday, Oct. 17. Notably, David Raphael netted his third goal of the season to begin the scoring before Brayden Beason punched home his team-leading fourth goal of the fall to secure the shutout victory.
  • For his efforts against the Cardinal, Eric Waltz was awarded WCC Defensive Player of the Week. Appearing in his first match since Sept. 15, the reigning WCC Goalkeeper of the Year denied Stanford's lone shot on goal at 67:59.
  • Logging two assists against Stanford, Gabriel Bracken Serra now ranks third in the West Coast Conference in assists with five on the year. Overall, the Berkeley native is tied with Beason for the team lead in points (9).
  • As a team, the green and gold continue to possess one of the most potent offenses in the country as San Francisco rank third in Division I in corner kicks per game (7.08), sixth in shots per game (16.92) and tied for eighth in shots on goal per game (7.08).
SCOUTING THE LIONS:
  • Facing Washington in a nonconference matchup last week, LMU fell to the Huskies, 2-0, on the road in Seattle on Oct. 21, which ultimately snapped a seven-game unbeaten streak for the Lions.
  • Ismail Nieves leads the team's offense with five points on two goals and one assist this season. Notably, the freshman has played a full 90 minutes five times this season as he has tallied nine starts across the team's twelve matches.
  • In goal for LMU, Ky Mani Dade (7 games) and Massimo Oedekoven Pomponi (5 games) have split time for the Lions so far this fall. Overall, the duo has accumulated a combined 44 saves as LMU leads the conference in save percentage with a .800 average heading into Saturday.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Since 2005, LMU leads the head-to-head series over San Francisco with a record of 13-10-2. In their previous battle, the Dons upset No. 20 LMU in a 3-1 victory at Negoesco Stadium on Nov. 4, 2023.
