SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference (WCC) announced on Monday afternoon that
Lucas Jones, a junior goalkeeper for the University of San Francisco men's soccer team, has been named WCC Defensive Player of the Week.
Jones continues to make his case for West Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year as the San Francisco native helped USF to a 1-0 win over Saint Mary's on Saturday, Nov. 8. Jones finished with three saves against the Gaels, the ninth time this season he has recorded three saves or more in a match. San Francisco also recorded its eighth shutout as a team in the win, while Jones logged his seventh shutout of the season.
Within the conference, Jones now ranks in the top ten in: save percentage (.776, second), shutouts (7, second), goals allowed (3, third), goals against average (1.00, third), saves (45, fourth), and wins (8, tied for fourth).
This marks the second weekly honor for San Francisco this season (
David Raphael/Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 27, 2025).
