University of San Francisco Athletics

A native of Galway, Ireland, Barry enters his first season as an assistant coach with the University of San Francisco. Barry has spent recent years coaching in the youth game and leading athletic development programs in the Bay Area. He is a USSF B licensed coach, and has been Head Coach of Lick Wilmerding High School in recent seasons.

Barry played in the League of Ireland Premier Division between 2009 and 2014, making his debut aged 18 with UCD AFC. He continued with the club until 2014, gathering various accolades and youth national squad representation during his time. Being in a full time environment gave him an insight in to what it takes to play at the Pro level and drove his interest in coaching and exercise science. More recently Barry has been captain of San Francisco City FC in the USL PDL.

He holds both a B.Sc. and M.S. in Sports Science and Human Performance, with a special interest in the physical preparation for soccer.
