OTHER CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Evans comes to the Hilltop after a 10-year run as the sprints and hurdles coach for the men’s and women’s teams at Yale University.
  • While at Yale, Evans oversaw student-athletes who broke 17 different school records across the sprints and hurdles events. He guided 10 individual Ivy League Champions and one athlete who was the most outstanding performer at the 2017 Outdoor Ivy League Championships
  • During his tenure at Yale, 44 male athletes achieved top-10 all-time marks indoors and 46 female athletes achieved top-10 all-time marks. During the outdoor season he coached 28 men to top-10 marks and 34 women.
  • Evans arrived at Yale after spending the 2011-2014 season as the Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at Division III Marietta College.
  • While at Marietta, Evans guided athletes to over 40 school records across all events. He produced nine All-Americans and oversaw the first male individual conference cross country champion. He also produced the highest finishing team at the conference meet in Marietta history.
  • Prior to Marietta, Evans spent five seasons (2005-10) as the sprints/hurdles coach at Brown University where he guided athletes to seven school records and ten NCAA Regional appearances.
  • Evans got his start in coaching at Youngstown State University in Ohio during the 2004-05 season. While at YSU, the Penguins women’s team won the indoor and outdoor Horizon League titles, while the sprinters and hurdlers set five school records and saw five women qualify for the NCAA Mid-East Regional.
  • Notable athletes who have trained with Coach Evans include Aliya Boshnak, a 2020 Tokyo Olympic Qualifier for Jordan in the 400m, Marc Andre-Alexandre who finished 5 th at the 2016 Canadian Olympic Trials in the 400m, and Victoria Guerrier, a 2024 World U20 qualifier in the 800m.
OTHER NOTABLES:
  • Evans was a two-sport athlete in football and track & field while at Lehigh earning seven varsity letters. He still holds four school records in track and field and was a two-time Patriot League sprint champion.
