USF TAKES ON PORTLAND SATURDAY:
San Francisco completes its Pacific Northwest swing with a Saturday matinee at Portland at the Chiles Center. Tip-off against the Pilots is set for 1:30 PM in a game carried live on 95.7 The GAME and televised by Comcast SportsNet Plus. USF looks to complete the season sweep against the Pilots.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE DONS: USF battled but could not overcome turnovers and poor foul shooting in dropping a 74-63 decision at Gonzaga Thursday night. Senior forward Angelo Caloiaro scored a team-high 14 points for the Dons.

MOVING ON UP: Senior forward Angelo Caloiaro enters Saturday's game at Portland ranked No. 26 on the USF career scoring list with 1,084 points (9.4 ppg). Next up is Shammell Stallworth (1999-03) with 1,087 (9.7 ppg).

DONS BULLETS
- At 10-4, USF posted its best non-conference record since opening 1999-00 with a 12-1 start
- Since opening the 2010-11 season with a 4-9 record, San Francisco owns a 27-15 mark
- Dating to the start of West Coast Conference play last season, the Dons own an 11-3 record in games decided by three points or less or in overtime
- USF dropped to 10-2 in overtime games under head coach Rex Walters with a 77-76 OT home loss to Loyola Marymount (12/31/11)

- The Dons lead the league in steals (8.7) (four players rank in the top-10) and turnover margin (+2.1)
- USF also ranks in the top-four in the WCC in scoring (73.6/4th), scoring margin (+4.4.2/4th) & field goal percentage (.462/3rd)
- San Francisco opponents are converting at a remarkable .780 rate from the free throw line, which is the tops nationally

DONS AND PILOTS
- USF squares off against Portland for the 81st time in a series dating to 1962-63.
- USF won its third straight game in the series with a 104-70 win nine days ago at War Memorial Gym (1/12/12). Rashad Green had 19 points.
- The Dons snapped a four-game losing streak to Portland with a 81-74 win at War Memorial Gym (1/20/11). Michael Williams scored 18 and Cody Doolin added 14 for USF.
- Portland's four game winning streak was its longest in series history against San Francisco
- The Dons' 10-game winning streak was snapped in a 78-60 contest at Portland (1/15/09).
- USF has won 19 of the last 25 meetings dating back to 2000 
- The Dons swept the series vs. UP last season for the first time since 2008

SCOUTING PORTLAND: The Pilots conclude their fourth week of West Coast Conference play with a 5-14 overall record and have lost three straight league contests to fall to 2-4. Portland dropped a 82-63 loss to San Diego Thursday at the Chiles Center and suffered a road sweep last week at San Francisco (104-70) and Saint Mary's (69-61). After serving as an understudy last year, sophomore forward Ryan Nicholas leads the Pilots in scoring (11.5) and rebounds (7.7). Sophomore guard Tim Douglas adds 9.5 points and a team-high 3.5 assists, while senior sharpshooter Nemanja Mitrovic adds 9.0 points. Eric Reveno is in his sixth overall season as the top Pilot and owns a 84-95 overall record as a Division I head coach - all at Portland. The former Stanford assistant has guided the Pilots to three consecutive College Basketball Insiders postseason berths. Portland posted a 20-12 record last season and finished fifth in the WCC at 7-7. Reveno has guided the Pilots to consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time in program history.

CALOIARO JOINS ELITE GROUP: Senior forward Angelo Caloiaro joined an elite group when he surpassed 1,000 career points on New Year's Eve against Loyola Marymount in the 2011-12 West Coast Conference home opener. Caloiaro scored a game-high 26 points and became the 31st player in program history to score more than 1,000 points for the Green and Gold, finishing the night with 1,005.
