Ludstruom Finishes Fifth in Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate

PALM DESERT, Calif. - The San Francisco Women's Golf Team, led by Emilie Lundstrom, finished fifth in the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate on Sunday. Nineteen college women's golf teams competed in the two day event which was hosted by the Classic Club Golf Course in Palm Desert, Calif.
Lundstrom, a freshman from Orebro, Sweden, closed out day one shooting four-over 148 (73, 75) followed by junior Peppiina Kaija who tied for 26th firing nine-over 153 (78, 75). The Dons ended day one in fourth place with a score of 612 (308, 304).
Day two of the tournament ended with Lundstrom tied for 15th place shooting 11-over 227 (73, 75, 79) and Kaija (78, 75, 75) finishing after to tie for 21st firing 12-over 228. The USF women's team claimed fifth place to end the tournament with a score of 56-over 920 (308, 304, 308).
Fresno State shot 885 to take home first place followed by College of Charleston (898) in second.
The tournament concludes fall action for the USF women, who will resume play on February 16 in the Stanford Peg Barnard Invitational.
