LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- It took an overtime golden goal opportunity by the Loyola Marymount Lions to take down the USF women's soccer team, 1-0, at Sullivan Field in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.

The Dons, who played to a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes of action, gave up their lone goal on the day 11 seconds into the overtime period and now stand at 7-7-3 (2-4-0 WCC) on the season. With the win, LMU moves to 9-5-2 overall (3-2-0 WCC).

The score came after Darien Pyka got past the USF defensive line and found the back post for the victory. The Lions held the 17-7 shot advantage in the match, with six LMU players getting off at least two attempts in the match. USF senior goalkeeper Megan Connor continued her stellar defensive play, stopping eight shots on the day and six in the second period alone.

Offensively for the Dons, Mackenzie Krieser finished the day with two of USF's seven total shots, one on frame. The sophomore from Medford, Ore., leads the team with 56 shots on the season, 30 on goal, and 20 points.

The team returns home to the friendly confines of Negoesco Stadium for their final home match of the season on Friday, Oct. 26. USF will bid farewell to three in their Senior Day matchup with Santa Clara at 7 p.m.
