SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco men's soccer team defended its home turf of Negoesco Stadium and left Gonzaga winless in conference action after posting a 1-0 win on Friday night.

After playing to a scoreless tie through the first half, all it took was a free kick by Mauricio Diaz De Leon in the 61st minute to garner the game-winning moment. His boot from the set piece found its way past Gonzaga keeper Ryan Caballero to decide the match.

The Bulldogs had chances to knot the score in the 70th minute, but Brendan Roslund saved the try from Conner Bevans to preserve his fourth clean-sheet victory of the year. Another attempt in the 75th minute hit the post and was followed by a defensive block by the Dons. Gonzaga continued its offensive pace into the final minutes of the contest and Roslund was again hard at work in the 82nd minute as Zach Hamer's attempt was stopped by the senior from Denver, Colo.

With the win, the Dons move to 6-7-4 on the season, 4-5-2 in West Coast Conference action and 1-1-1 in the month of November.

USF looks to close out the 2012 campaign on a high as it honors its seniors in a face off with Portland on Sunday at 12 p.m.
