USF WELCOMES BRONCOS TO THE HILLTOP:  San Francisco returns to War Memorial Gym to host ancient Bay Area rival Santa Clara Thursday, February 9 in the 210th meeting between the two programs. Tip-off against the Broncos is set for 8:00 PM in a game televised nationally on ESPNU.

WHITE OUT THURSDAY:  San Francisco Athletics encourages all fans coming to Thursday's ESPNU game against ancient Bay Area rival Santa Clara to wear white for a "White Out" game. The first 4,000 fans entering War Memorial Gym will receive a free white shirt courtesy of BMW of San Francisco and Dons Athletics.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE DONS: USF lost a heartbreaker at Loyola Marymount, 90-88 Saturday at Gersten Pavilion. Senior guard Rashad Green scored a career-high 24 points for the Dons.

MOVING ON UP: Senior forward Angelo Caloiaro enters Thursday's game against Santa Clara ranked No. 21 on the USF career scoring list with 1,149 points (9.7 ppg). Next up is former academic All-American Joel De Bortoli  (1987-90) with 1,170.

MOVING ON UP II: Junior guard Michael Williams enters Thursday's game against Santa Clara ranked No. 39 on the USF career scoring list with 885 points (10.8). Next up is Naismith Hall-of-Famer K.C. Jones (1951-56) at 901 points.

DONS BULLETS
- At 10-4, USF posted its best non-conference record since opening 1999-00 with a 12-1 start
- Since opening the 2010-11 season with a 4-9 record, San Francisco owns a 30-16 mark
- Dating to the start of West Coast Conference play last season, the Dons own an 12-4 record in games decided by three points or less or in overtime, including 5-3 mark this season
- USF dropped to 10-2 in overtime games under head coach Rex Walters with a 77-76 OT home loss to Loyola Marymount (12/31/11)
- San Francisco is 23-6 at War Memorial Gym since the start of the 2010-11 season
- The Dons scored a season-high 54 points in the second half at Holy Cross (12/22/11) and forced a season-high 28 turnovers
- USF owns a 832-581 advantage in paint scoring through 25 games
- The Dons rank second in the league in steals (8.4) (three players rank in the top-10) and turnover margin (+1.8)

- San Francisco opponents are converting at a remarkable .771 rate from the free throw line. Only three Dons shoot at a higher percentage.

DONS VS. BRONCOS
- USF squares off against ancient Bay Area rival Santa Clara for the 210th time in the all-time series dating to 1908.
- San Francisco's collected win No. 100. vs. Santa Clara in the all-time series with a 90-77 win (1/26/12). Angelo Caloiaro scored 20 and Perris Blackwell added 19 for USF.
- The Dons dropped a 95-91 loss to Santa Clara in the quarterfinals of the 2011 CIT at War Memorial Gym (3/22/11).
- Angelo Caloiaro scored 22 & Rashad Green added 19 in the first-ever postseason meeting

SCOUTING SANTA CLARA: The Broncos enter their sixth week of West Coast Conference play with a 8-15 overall record and remain winless in league play after dropping their 10th straight game in a 70-65 loss at San Diego on Saturday. Santa Clara is 0-8 in true road games this season. The Broncos posted impressive wins against New Mexico (79-76, ot) and against Villanova (65-64), but have struggled so far in 2012. As a team, SCU shoots .406 from the field during league contests and .315 from 3-point range. Sophomore guard Evan Roquemore leads the Broncos attack averaging 14.0 points per game to go along with 5.3 assists. Kerry Keating is in his fifth overall season as the head honcho and owns a 74-82 overall record as a Division I head coach - all coming at Santa Clara. Last season, Keating directed the Broncos to the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament title en route to a 24-14 overall record (8-6 WCC).

DONS SHOOTING FOR VICTORY NO. 500 AT WAR MEMORIAL: San Francisco's next victory at War Memorial Gym will be program win No. 500 in the “House That Russell Built”. Constructed for the 1958-59 season, War Memorial Gym celebrated its 50th anniversary season in 2008-09 and has received many recent face-lifts in the last two years. The Dons have posted 23 home wins since the start of 2010-11 season.
