Just the Facts, Ma'am
  • San Francisco (9-11, 2-5 WCC) enters Monday night's contest at Saint Mary's on a high after knocking off BYU at home on Saturday afternoon. The Dons look to ride the winning momentum across the Bay Bridge and notch its third victory away from the Hilltop this season.
  • Saint Mary's (13-5, 4-1 WCC) finds itself coming off a road win at Santa Clara on Thursday, and the Gaels enter the contest sitting second in West Coast Conference action, trailing only Gonzaga.
  • The second meeting between the Dons and Cougars this season, Saint Mary's recorded a 68-48 victory over USF at War Memorial Gym to start the New Year. USF, whose extensive January travel schedule has included trips to BYU, Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount and Santa Clara, has not lost on the Hilltop since.
  • This marks the first Monday game for either squad this season.

Know the Foe
  • Jackie Nared leads not only the team, but also the WCC in scoring. Though the Gaels are led by Nared's 18.4 points per night, but the team is far from a one-woman show. Danielle Mauldin adds a double-double of 14.5 points and 11.2 rebounds a game into the mix. Mauldin and Nared rank 1-2 in the league in rebounding (11.2 and 9.2). Additionally, Kate Gaze puts up 11.7 points per night for Saint Mary's.
  • With all that offensive production, the Gaels rank second in the conference in scoring offense, posting 68.1 points per night. Saint Mary's leads the league in rebounding margin, grabbing 8.4 more boards a game than its opponents.

BYU Remix
  • Though the Cougars scored first in Saturday's tussle, the early 3-point lead was the only time USF found itself trailing in the game. Taylor Proctor put up the next seven points in the game and the Dons were off and running to the victory.
  • USF was led by a pair of freshmen, with Zhane Dikes' 19 points leading the way. Taylor Proctor added 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds in the win. The pair played 77 of a possible 80 minutes and combined to shoot 14-of-29 (.482) from the field and 6-of-7 from the line.
  • The Dons held the nation's leading assist-getter, Haley Steed, to just three assists—five below her season average. The BYU loss in San Francisco was its first at the Hilltop in the short series between the two schools.

Quotable
  • “As we've been building the program, the big change is when the players start to really own the program. They'll stay after practice, they'll work on anything that they need to work on, they'll come in a watch film. It's fun for me because I was that kind of player, so to see the same kind of energy toward the game, I really drawn to that. And it's exciting to me to see that that kind of work—it pays off. A little skill work goes a long way.” —head coach Jennifer Azzi after beating BYU
