Just the Facts, Ma'am

The University of San Francisco women's basketball team takes on its final non-conference foe of the season, a Friday night contest at Fresno State. The Dons are looking to stop a four-game losing streak in the series against the Bulldogs with the last USF win coming in 2001.

UMKC Remix
Back on the court for the first time in not quite three weeks, Taylor Proctor willed the San Francisco women's basketball team to overtime, but the Dons could not close out with a win as UMKC escaped War Memorial Gym with a 70-62 victory Wednesday night.

Proctor, a sophomore from Colorado Springs, Colo., finished with an 18-point, 15-rebound double-double to lead USF in both categories. Her 3-pointer with 28.4 seconds to play in regulation tied the contest at 56-56 and forced the extra period.

However, the Kangaroos came out swinging in overtime, outscoring the Dons 14-6 in the five minute stretch to get the win. UMKC was led by San Francisco native and senior for the Roos, Eilise O'Connor. The graduate of St. Ignatius posted a game-high 30 points.

Proctor 15 rebounds represent a new career-high for the sophomore from Colorado Springs, Colo.

What 2 Watch 4
The Dons sport a 4-6 record heading into the final week of non-conference action. USF has four women averaging double-digit scoring through the non-conference slate. Rachel Howard, a freshman from Berkeley, Calif., leads the charge, posting 13.4 points per game on .438 shooting.

Zhané Dikes  adds 12.2 points per game, Taj Winston puts up 11.8 per contest, and Taylor Proctor's 10.1 points a game rounds out USF's double-digit scorers. Proctor paces the team in rebounding notching 7.9 boards a night for the Green & Gold.

Jamie Katuna, a junior from Longmont, Colo., is second in the WCC in 3-point percentage (.529).

Know the Foe - Fresno State
Similar to the Dons, the Bulldogs also have a four-pack of double-digit scorers, paced by Taylor Thompson's 12.9 points per game. Fresno State enters the contest on a three-game winning streak, most recently knocking off  Santa Clara and Portland. This marks Fresno State's fourth straight home contest, where the Bulldogs are 4-1.

USF & Fresno State - The Series
The Dons hold a 16-14 advantage in the all-time series against the Bulldogs, but Fresno State has taken wins in the last four contests against USF to close the gap. In last season's meeting, Fresno State's Taylor Thompson led the Bulldogs with 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting and a 7-of-10 effort from the line. The Dons held the narrow halftime lead before Fresno State shot a sweltering 56 percent in the second to pull away for the 73-63 victory.

Devine's Dimes
"Fresno State has been one of the most consistent, mid-major programs in the nation for nearly a decade. Tonight's game presents a huge opportunity for the Dons; a win over the Bulldogs would be a great boost heading into WCC play.

"Playing at the Save Mart Center will prepare San Francisco well for some of the bigger arenas in the WCC like the Marriott Center at BYU, the McCarthey Center at Gonzaga, and Orelans Arena in Las Vegas!" - Devine on Fresno State

On the Horizon
The Dons earn a much needed holiday break before lacing them up for the first game in West Coast Conference play. USF heads to Bay Area rival Santa Clara Dec. 30 at 7 p.m., to begin a three-game road swing.
