Devine's Dimes
"When the mercury soars toward 80 degrees, you have to allow extra time to get to Pepperdine, because of all those beach goers flocking to Malibu. About seven or eight years ago, the Dons won a thriller at Firestone Fieldhouse that began with just two - that's right two - officials on the floor.
The third official got stuck in beach traffic and arrived late. She actually stepped through the curtain at the west end of the floor and called a foul seconds after arriving!" - on Pepperdine
On the Horizon
USF plays its first WCC home  game Thursday, Jan. 9, hosting newest conference member Pacific at 7 p.m. Continuing the weekend, the Dons square off with Bay Area rival Saint Mary's Saturday at 2 p.m.
