Final Team and Individual Results
FRENSO, Calif. -- San Francisco's women's golf team carded a final round 312 on Tuesday and finished seventh at the Fresno State Classic, which was held at the Copper River Country Club in Fresno.
The Dons finished with a 54-hole total of 933 (+69), 30 strokes behind co-champions Fresno State and Boise State (903; +39). Cal State-Northridge was seven strokes back in third place at 910 (+46).
Clariss Guce of Cal State-Northridge survived a final round 75 and held off a hard-charging Madchen Ly of Fresno State to earn medalist honors with a 2-over score of 218. Ly's final round 72 vaulted her up to second place at 219.
Emelie Lundstrom earned a top-10 finish, tying for eighth place at 228 (+12). The sophomore entered the final round just five strokes off the lead, but was 7-over on her last nine holes, dropping her into a tie for eighth.
Ayaka Suzuki's 74 was the team's lowest round of the day. The freshman tied for 22nd at 234 (+18).
Alison Lillie shot a final round 77 and to finish 25th at 235 (+19).
Senior Peppiina Kaija, playing as an individual, tied for 26th at 236 (+20) following a final round 77.
Clare Sorensen (241; +25) and Victoria House (242; +26) tied for 38th and 40th, respectively.
USF will return to action on April 6 when it joins the field at the Gold Rush Classic hosted by Long Beach State at the Yorba Linda Country Club. It will be the Dons' last event prior to the WCC Championships, which get underway on April 14.
