Final Team and Individual Results
CORVALLIS, Ore. -- USF's women's golf team couldn't match its blistering second round from Monday but still managed a second place finish at the Oregon State Invitational held at the Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore.
After rounds of 299 and 296 on Monday, the Dons shot a final round 304 (+16) to finish at 889 (+25) for the tournament, 10 strokes behind first place Oregon State, which won the event with a 54-hole score of 879 (+15). The Dons were four strokes better than third place High Point, which finished at 893.
Junior Clare Sorensen, who entered the final round with a one-stroke lead on the field after rounds of 73 and 68 on Monday, shot a final round 78 and tied for third at 219 (+3). She finished four strokes behind medalist Isabella Leung on Hawaii, who shot a final round 73 to finish 1-under 215 for the tournament, three strokes ahead of Annica Yoo of Oregon State (218).
The four other golfers in the lineup all turned in rounds of 76 on Tuesday.
Ayaka Suzuki and Emelie Lundstrom tied for 13th at 223 (+7). Sophomore Alison Lillie tied for 29th at 229 while freshman Vanessa Ha tied for 33rd at 230 (+14).
The Dons will return to action on Sept. 29-30 at the Rose City Intercollegiate, held at the Langdon Farms Golf Club in Portland.
