SAN FRANCISCO—After a return to the Bay Area including a stop at home, the Dons will return to the road and continue a stretch of eight of nine away from San Francisco when they take on Denver and Colorado this weekend.
Â
San Francisco split the weekend by beating UC Davis on the road 1-0 and returned to Negoesco Stadium on Sunday where they played San Jose State to a 1-1 draw. The match on Sunday was the first time the Dons had been at home since Aug. 31 and will be the last time they are at home until Oct. 12.
Â
Friday's match at Denver will be the first of five straight matches away from home.
Â
THIRD IN REGION, VOTES IN TOP 25For the second straight week, the Dons have been voted as third in the NSCAA West Region poll, behind only No. 12 Pepperdine and No. 23 Long Beach State and ahead of WCC rival Santa Clara. San Francisco has also started to receive votes for the Top 25 and is currently ranked 37th in the nation.
Â
@THEMACKATTACK15 IS BACKMackenzie Krieser played for the first time this season after battling an injury early and quickly found the back of the net when in the first half against San Jose State, she slid near the far post to meet the ball and punch in into the net for her first goal of the season.
Â
SIGNATURE WIN AT BOSTONThe Dons picked up what might be their most impressive win under
Jim Millinder when they traveled to Massachusetts and beat Boston University 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. After a
Jessica Nakae goal in the ninth minute of action, USF held the Terriers to five total shots with only two being on goal. Boston is the defending Patriot League champion.
