Dons Defeat UC Davis 4-3

San Francisco, Calif.- Even though the Dons did not pick up the doubles point, USF women's tennis clenched a 4-3 win against UC Davis through its efforts in singles play at the Olympic Club.
Thyra Taune served-up a quick two set win against Tiffany Pham 6-1, 6-2 to tie the match 2-2. No. 114 Marina Nikolic won her match in third singles against Lani-Rae Green also in two sets, 6-2, 6-2. No. 51 Andrea Ka followed suit to take serve up a win against Layla Sanders 6-2, 6-4.
With UC Davis picking up two matches in singles play; it was Milica Hadzi-Tanovic who sealed the win for USF. Hadzi-Tanovic who lost the first set 4-6 against Kristy Jorgensen, pushed through two win the next two sets 6-3, 6-2.
"The match came down to Milica and she played such a clean third set to clinch the match on her birthday!" said head coach Hilary Somers
Next up for the Dons will be Arizona State in Tempe, Arizona on February 28, at 11 A.M.
