ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The San Francisco women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to the host Wolverines in its first match of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Saturday morning at the Varsity Tennis Center.
The Dons (0-2) got down early as the Michigan pairing of Ronit Yurovsky and Alex Najarian put the Wolverines on the board first. USF's No. 3 duo of Sofia Holmberg and Shanna Dos Santos challenged to even the score before succumbing, 6-4, to give Michigan the doubles point and the first lead of the day.
No. 13 Michigan extended the match advantage in singles action, taking the points at the Nos. 3, 6 and 2 duals to ease to four points and close the action.
Next, USF will play a consolation match between either No. 24 Kentucky or Dartmouth, with Sunday's first serve slated for 7 a.m. PT.
