
MGOLF | Low Round Helps Dons Capture Second

FRESNO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco men's golf team captured second place by finishing at a tie with BYU for the lowest round of the day on the final day of the Nick Watney Invitational hosted by Fresno State at the Sunnyside Golf Course.
BYU was the overall team champion, holding off the Dons by finishing with a three-day score of 865, 13-over par. The Dons began the day two back a four-way tie for first and carded a day-three score of 289, which tied them with BYU for the lowest of the day. USF finishes the tournament 15-over par with a team score of 867. Utah, Saint Mary's and Fresno State rounded out the top-five.
USF had three players finish in the top-10 and was led by senior Henry Chung who finished second overall, his three-day score was an even-par 213. Toby Briggs moved up 18 spots on the leader board on the final day with a one-under 70, giving him a three-day score of 217.
Soren Lind finished the three-day tournament tied for ninth at five over par with a score of 218. Tim Widing was tied for 14th with a three-day score of six over par for a 219.
The Dons return to action on Monday, October 9 when they travel to Fairfax, Calif., to participate in the Mackenzie Invitational hosted by Cal at the Meadow Club.
