SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team is set to take on No. 16 Stanford at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center at 7 p.m. The Dons (2-3, 0-0) will square off against head coach
Molly Goodenbour's alma mater, the visiting Cardinal (4-3, 0-0).
Goodenbour was a standout performer at Stanford, where she was a four-year letterwinner under Tara VanDerveer from 1989-93. She helped the Cardinal to four straight Pac-10 championships, three NCAA Final Fours and a pair of NCAA Championships in 1990 and '92.
Having previously coached against VanDerveer while at Chico State, this will be Goodenbour's second chance to take down Stanford. The last time Stanford visited the Hilltop was on Dec. 22, 2010 to secure
Tara VanDerveer her 800th career victory in a 100-45 result. The Dons are 9-22 all-time against Stanford. The Cardinal have won 16 straight.

- Brittany McPhee leads the Cardinal, averaging 16.5 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game.
- Two other Stanford players are registering in double-digits including DiJonai Carrington (12.5) and Alanna Smith (12.2).
- Carrington tops in boards, recording nearly 10 (9.7) per contest.
- The Cardinal has been holding opponents to below 60 points (USF averages 70.6 points per game).
- Stanford is coming off an overtime loss to No. 9 Ohio State.
DONS BY THE NUMBERS
- Shannon Powell averages 12.6 points per game to lead the Dons.
- Michaela Rakova is second in scoring (12.0 ppg) and first in rebounding (7.4 rpg) on the roster.
- Two other Dons average 10-plus points a game, including Anna Seilund (11.8) and Kalyn Simon (11.4).
- USF is second in the WCC in three-point field goals made with 39 and fourth in three-point field goal percentage (32.8).
