Box Score BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – From the midway point of the first half to the 70th minute, the battle between the University of San Francisco and No.4 ranked Indiana remained a one goal game with the Hoosiers holding to a 2-1 lead. However, Indiana scored three goals in a 12-minute span to down USF, 5-1.
USF's record fell to 0-3-0 on the season while Indiana improved to 3-0-0.
Down 2-0 early in the match, USF cut the lead in half in the 21st minute when junior Sean Bowman headed in a free kick cross from Aaron Lombardi.
The score remained 2-1 in favor of Indiana until the 71st minute when Hoosier Timmy Mehl's free kick from 25-yards out found the back of the net. IU would tack on two additional goals in the 79th and 83rd minutes by Francesco Moore and Rashad Hyacenth for the final margin of score.
The Dons will remain in the Hoosier State to play Butler on Sunday, September 3 at 2 p.m PT. The game will be played at Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington as part of the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic.
