THE RUNDOWN
IRVINE, Calif. – For just the second time this season, the University of San Francisco women's soccer team was handed a loss greater than a point. UC Irvine scored twice in the opening half and added a third goal in the second to defeat the Dons 3-0 on Sunday at Anteater Stadium in the final non-conference match of the season for USF. Â
Â
In a span of just over a minute, UC Irvine (5-3-3) put two on the board and never looked back. The first goal of the afternoon came when UCI cleared a USF corner kick and a turnover at midfield allowed a 1v1 situation for UCI's Sydney Carr who beat
Olivia Camera with a shot 10 yards out.Â
Â
The second goal came a minute later when a cross found UC Irvine's Lili Andino all by herself. USF (4-5-2) was outshot by UCI 17-10 on the afternoon.Â
Samantha Jehnings led the Dons with four shots on the day, two on goal.Â
