SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco volleyball team has returned from North Dakota where they participated in the NDSU Classic Presented by Hampton Inn & Double Tree by Hilton.

The tournament was a learning experience for the Dons, as they fell short of picking up a win in all three of their matches against Florida A&M, Northern Colorado, and North Dakota State.

One of the standouts for USF was
Nora Buvarp-Lavik, who led the Dons in each of the three games. She saw six kills in two matches and finished off the tournament with 10 kills against North Dakota State on a .286 hitting percentage. Buvarp-Lavik also tallied three block assists and two solo blocks.

The senior from Norway was the sole Don to be honored with All-Classic Team accolades.

Freshman
Erica Ronda earned another double-digit kill match, her fourth of the season out of seven total games. Ronda had 14 slams against Florida A&M.

Carly Lowry led USF in kills in two games with nine and 11, respectively.

The Dons will welcome to CSUN and Fresno State to War Memorial at the Sobrato Center this coming weekend. First, it's a match up with the Matadors on Friday night at 6 p.m. USF then turns around to play the Bulldogs in a rematch from the Battle of the Bay Tournament. First serve is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday.
