MTN | Dons Defeat Brown 4-1

SAN FRANCISCO -- The University of San Francisco men's tennis team faced Brown University at the Olympic Club on Wednesday afternoon. In a clinch format, the Dons secured a 4-1 win to improve to 6-10 in the season.
USF got off to a great start in doubles by securing the doubles point. Johan Joenhagen and Ryan Maker finished first with a 6-0 win, while pairs Oliver Poysti and Mert Zincirli (6-2), and Paul Giraud and Marco Barretto (6-3) followed with match wins of their own.
The score was tied 1-1 after Barretto started singles play with a 1-6, 1-6 loss. Marker (6-3, 6-3) and Joenhagen (6-4, 6-1) were quick to give the Dons the lead again. The match was clinched for the Dons in the end after a 6-2, 6-4 win from Poysti.

"Today, my guys put in some solid effort in their matches," said head coach Pablo Pires de Almeida. "They kept their momentum going throughout the match and fought hard. I am proud of our win and I hope to see this momentum moving forward."
