SAN FRANCISCO -- The University of San Francisco women's tennis team faced the Academy of Art at the Olympic Club on Sunday afternoon, and the Dons finished with a 6-0 victory.
"We had a good win against a strong Academy of Art program," said head coach Peter Bartlett. "The gals did a great job executing their game plans today. We have felt like we have been playing better in each match we play and today we were able to put it all together."
The Dons got ahead early with 6-1 wins from the doubles pairing of Emily Maxfield and Shanna Dos Santos, and Anna Sokiran and Alexa Meyer. The doubles point was secured with a 6-4 win by Margarita Treyes and Amber Del Rosario, giving the Dons the lead.
USF started strong in singles as well, which began with Maxfield's 7-6, 6-3 victory. Sokiran (6-3, 6-4), Dos Santos (6-1, 6-3) and Meyer (6-1, 6-0) followed in suit, and the match ended with a 6-3 win from Treyes.

The Dons return to the Olympic Club on Saturday, Mar. 10 for a match against the University of Nevada. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
