STOCKTON, Calif. - The University of San Francisco Dons baseball's (28-30, 0-2 WCC Tournament) fell in an elimination game to the the No. 3 seeded Loyola Marymount (25-29, 1-1 WCC Tournament) in a pitching duel, 1-0.

In a tightly contested elimination game, it was the pitcher's that would star in the game with both
Riley Ornido and Tyler Cohen throwing six scoreless innings. The Dons would not be without their chances, getting runners on first and second with one out in the third inning. USF, however, would be unable to get a run on the board.

In the sixth, the Dons would have runners in scoring position with two outs, but a strikeout would end the inning and keep the game scoreless.

LMU would score the lone run of the game, and take the lead, in the seventh inning, getting runners on first and third with no outs. The Lions' lead-off hitter, Billy Wilson, would ground out to
Aaron Ping at second base, scoring the runner from third to make it 1-0. After coming in for Ornido with no-outs, he would allow just the one run to come in and keep the Dons close as the game went into the final two frames.

In the ninth inning,
Riley Helland would get a one-out single to get the Dons going.
Ross Puskarich would come up next and hit a hard ground ball headed into center field, but the ball would hit the foot of LMU's Nick Frasso, allowing the short stop to get the second out of the inning. Frasso would strikeout
RJ Cordeiro for the final out of the game to earn a 1-0 win for LMU.

With this loss, the Dons are out of the West Coast Conference Tournament and finish the year at 28-30.
