SWEET STREAK TO SIX STRAIGHT

The Dons (8-4, 1-0 WCC) have won six consecutive matches entering this week – their longest winning streak since winning 13 straight to start the 2015 season. Three of those wins have come via the sweep, including a 3-0 sweep over rival Santa Clara on Thursday – the Dons' first conference-opening win since 2014.

DEFENSE! DEFENSE!

USF's defense has been key in spurring the Dons' current winning streak. Opponents have been held to under .200 hitting against San Francisco in five straight matches and seven total in 2018. But don't look past the offense. The Dons hit .404 in their three-set sweep of Santa Clara on Thursday, the team's highest hitting percentage in three years.

SURPASSING THE CENTURY MARK

Only one match into conference play and the Dons already have two players who have eclipsed the 100-kills mark on the season. Kathya Garcia leads USF with 150 total kills, averaging 3.19 kills per set. Emily Zinger has 107 kills with a 2.43 kills-per-set average. Sophie Sydenham is next in line with 71 kills (2.03 per set).

COMING UP

San Francisco hits the road for the first time in conference play to start the month of October. USF will travel to the Pacific Northwest to face Portland on Oct. 4 and Gonzaga on Oct. 6. Fans can find all live coverage links on USFDons.com.
