WHATS THE STORY
- The Dons (5-1-0) have won three straight games, beating Harvard, UC Santa Barbara and New Mexico all in a row since Aug. 26.
- USF is off to its best start in 18 years at 5-1-0. The Dons also started 5-1-0 in the 2000-01 season. The team's only loss this year came on the road at No. 1-ranked and defending national champion Stanford.
- The Dons have claimed two of the first three West Coast Conference Player of the Week awards with Samantha Jehnings (Aug. 13-19) and Miciah Madison (Aug. 27-Sept. 2) both earning the accolade already.
TOMORROW'S GAME
The Sooners (1-3-1) have averaged more than two goals per game with 11 in five contests, but have only mustered one victory and one draw so far. Through five games the Sooners are on program-record pace to score 39 goals this season. Even with their struggles, the Sooners are receiving five votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches' Poll. Oklahoma's lone win of the year came in dominating fashion when it beat Illinois State, 7-1, on Aug. 24. Oklahoma earned a draw against WCC foe Gonzaga, 1-1, in Norman, Okla., on Aug. 26.
SUNDAY'S GAME
The No. 21 Cowgirls' (4-1-0) only loss this season came last week on the road at Illinois by one goal, 2-1, on Friday. Oklahoma State is undefeated (3-0) at home this season with two shutouts. The Cowgirls' defense has recorded three total shutouts, including two at Neal Patterson Stadium. Speaking of Neal Patterson Stadium, the $20 million stadium is brand new this season. OSU earned one of the biggest wins in program history on Aug. 26 when it beat then-No. 4 Florida, 1-0.
UP NEXT
The Dons return home next week to start a four-game homestand that includes the start of WCC play on Sept. 30. Before that, the Dons will host Sacramento State on Sept. 14, Hawaii on Sept. 16, and UC Irvine on Sept. 21.
