MSOC | Dons Host Loyola Marymount on Senior Night

The University of San Francisco men's soccer team (2-13-1/0-6-0 WCC) wraps up the 2019 campaign on Saturday when USF hosts Loyola Marymount at 7:00 p.m. at Negoesco Stadium. Saturday's game will be streamed live on The WCC Network with Charles Wollin and Joe Dugan on the call.

WHATS THE STORY
• The Dons enter Saturday's match with a 2-13-1 overall mark and are 0-6-0 in WCC play.  USF is coming off a heartbreaking 2-1 loss in overtime at home to Pacific last Sunday. In that game, the Dons scored first on a goal by Jaidon Reynolds – his first collegiate goal.  UOP scored the equalizer in the 83rd minute to force overtime.  The Tigers got the win on a golden goal in the 99th minute.
 
• USF will honor six student-athletes: Jamal Bernardez, Sam Higgins, Jonah Van Der Werf, Jay Roundtree, David Polson, and Jorge Ruiz who will be playing their final game in the green and gold on Saturday evening.  The Dons will have a special pregame ceremony starting at 6:40 to honor the seniors.          
 
SATURDAY'S CONTEST
LMU is 10-5-3 overall and boasts a 5-1-0 mark in conference play.  Their 15 points are second only to first place Saint Mary's.  Lions are coming off a 2-0 defeat in Moraga to the Gaels.  Prior to that, LMU was riding a four-match winning streak.  On the road this season the Lions are 3-3-2.  The Lions have a very balanced and deep attack, 10 players have scored at least one goal with eight players scoring two or more.  Duhaney Williams and CJ Neville lead the team with four goals each. In goal, LMU relies mostly on Jacob Jackson who in 14 starts boasts a goals against average of 0.95.   
 
SERIES HISTORY
Dating back to 2005, the series between the Dons and Lions is pretty even, with LMU holding a 10-9-1 advantage in that time frame.  All-time, USF owns a 26-15-2 series advantage.  The first time these two teams played each other came on Nov. 7, 1981 with USF earning a 7-1 win at home.  Last time out, the Lions defeated the Dons 5-2 in Los Angeles on Nov. 20, 2018.
