Box Score SAN FRANCISCO — The University of San Francisco men's soccer team cruised to a 3-0 victory over San Jose State after Ashish Chattha scored two stunning goals followed by Jorge Ruiz's strike on Thursday night at Negoesco Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- San Francisco (1-3-0) gave its best offensive effort coming off three losses to start the season, as Chattha posted a career-high of two goals and Ruiz's first goal of the season to take down the Spartans (0-5-0).
- At the 28th minute mark, Ruiz started the play with multiple give-and-go passes to Chattha. As soon as Chattha found an opening at the lower corner of the box, he launched it past keeper David Sweeney. Chattha gave the Dons their first goal of the season.Â
- At the start of the intermission, Chattha continued to make an offensive presence as he struck at the of the box, easily making its way past the goalkeeper. The Dons led 2-0 at the 45th mark.Â
- San Francisco capped the scoring at the 87th minute when Shayan Charalaghi found Ruiz up the field towards the center of the box for the quick 3-0 lead.Â
