DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • In their last time out, USF continued their dominance at home with a 64-52 victory over Southern Illinois (7-5, 1-0 MVC) on Wednesday, Dec. 22. Locking down defensively, USF held the Salukis scoreless in the final 3:48 of regulation to fend off one last rally and improve to 8-0 at home as the win marked the third time this season in which the Dons have held their opponents to under 60 points (49 vs. GCU, 55 vs. Samford).
  • Climbing the ranks in recent weeks, Jamaree Bouyea is now first all-time in program history with 140 games played as a Don. Overall, the Seaside native also ranks third all-time in steals (168), fourth in minutes played (3,630) and sixth in assists (335).
  • Heading into the final week of 2021, the Dons can enter WCC action atop the conference standings with a win as USF is one of five teams with at least ten wins so far this season: USF (12), BYU (11), Saint Mary's (11), No. 4 Gonzaga (10), Santa Clara (10).
SCOUTING THE URBAN KNIGHTS:
  • Entering the contest with a program record six straight wins, ART U cruised past Chaminade, 100-77, in their last time on the hardwood on Sunday, Dec. 19. On Tuesday, the Urban Knights will square off against a Division I opponent for the second time this season as they previously defeated UC Davis, 79-60, on Sunday, Nov. 28.
  • As of this week, ART U remains as the only team in the PacWest without a loss to begin conference play following their victory over Chaminade. This season, the Knights are 8-0 when scoring above 75 points as they average 85.1 points per game in those contests.
  • Defensively, the Urban Knights lead their conference in total steals (112), steals per game (10.18) and turnovers forced (191) while also ranking in the top five in turnover margin (second; +2.36), three-point field goal percentage (fourth; 33.9 percent), free throw percentage (fourth; 74.4 percent) and field goal percentage defense (fifth; 43.2 percent).
  • Individually, four student-athletes average double figures for ART U: Deang Deang (13.8 points per game), Latrell Williams (12.0 points per game), Klay Brown (10.5 points per game) and Denny Slay (10.4 points per game). On the glass, Williams also leads the conference in total rebounds (98) and rebounding average (8.9) as he has tallied four double-doubles so far in 2021-22. Additionally, Brown paces the PacWest with an average of 2.0 steals per game.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Meeting for just the second time in history on Tuesday evening, the Dons will aim to keep their record perfect against ART U after taking down the Urban Knights in their inaugural season and the second official game in the program's history in a 74-23 win on Nov. 21, 2008.
TRACK THE ACTION:
Tuesday's contest will air live on the WCC Network and on KNBR 1050 at 6:00 pm. Pat Olson and Jim Brovelli will have the call from War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. Live streaming, live audio, live statistics and tickets are available above and via the team's schedule page.
