BVB | Dons Battle but Fall to Tigers on the Road

STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of San Francisco beach volleyball team could not build on its momentum from Wednesday's match. The Dons traveled to Pacific where they fell to the Tigers 4-1 at the Raney Sand Volleyball Courts on Friday afternoon.
"Anna Dalla Vecchia and Catie Cronister keep it rolling and win in the 1s," said head coach Frank Lavrisha. "Overall a tough day for the Dons. Correa and Rivera were right there in the 4s but lose in three sets. We look forward to our match with San Jose State next Tuesday and the West Coast Conference championships next weekend."
Anna Dalla Vecchia and her partner Catie Cronister continue to play well as the Dons' top pair. The duo defeated Alex Edwards and Hanne De Schrijver in straight sets 21-17, 22-20. USF (2-6, 0-2 WCC) could not get another win on the day.
In the 2s Tanner Pemberton and Greta Corti battled, but fell in straight sets 21-19, 21-16 in their match. Pacific (4-6, 1-6 WCC) sealed the match with wins in the 3s and 4s. In the 3s, Sophie Sydenham and Katie Wagstaff fell 21-16 and 21-17.
The 4s match was a tightly contested one. Bruna Correa and Serafina Rivera took the opening set, winning 16-21 but could not take the second set, the due battled but fell 15-13 in the final set. In the 5s Sara Denham and Jessica Eanes fell 21-12, 21-13.
