BVB | Dons Split Matches in Final Day of WCC Midseason Tournament

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The University of San Francisco beach volleyball team earned a split on the final day of the WCC Midseason Tournament. The Dons opened the morning with a 3-2 win over Pacific before falling to Santa Clara 5-0 in the finale.

USF (1-4) got the win over the Tigers after earning wins in the 1s, 2s, and 4s. Tanner Pemberton and Catie Cronister got their first wins of the season with a dominating straight-sets win: 21-9, 21-12. Anna Dall Vecchia and Greta Corti followed suit with a solid two-set win, 21-12, 21-17. It is Dalla Vecchia and Corti's second win of the weekend.

Bruna Correa and Serafina Rivera clinched the match for the Dons with a hard fought two-set win in their tilt, the duo won 21-19, 21-19. Sophie Sydenham and Katie Wagstaff battled but fell 21-12, 21-13 in the 3s match, while freshman Sara Denham and Jessica Eanes fell 21-16, 21-11 in the 5s.

Later that afternoon, USF fell to the Broncos 5-0 after USF appeared to just run out of gas. The 1s and 4s went to three sets but no pair came away with a win.

Pemberton and Cronister fell to their opponents 18-21, 21-13, 5-15. While Correa and Rivera fell 25-23, 16-21, 3-15.

Dalla Vecchia and Corti fell 21-17, 21-18, with Sydenham and Wagstaff falling 21-9, 21-19, and Denham and Eanes falling 21-14, 21-15.
