SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - After getting two road wins in Southern California last week, the University of San Francisco women's volleyball team (13-10, 6-6 WCC) returns home to continue conference play against two ranked opponents. The Dons will be facing No. 18 BYU (16-5, 9-2 WCC) for the second time this season on Thursday night at War Memorial before taking on No. 2 San Diego (20-1, 10-0 WCC) on Saturday afternoon. Â

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- Taking home their fifth and sixth straight wins in conference play last week, the Dons also took the WCC Defensive Player of the Week award for the first time this season as Abby Wadas was selected for the honor following her tremendous performances. Notably, the freshman libero recorded 13 digs against LMU on Oct. 27 and 19 against Pepperdine on Oct. 29 to lead the Dons to back-to-back victories on the road.Â
- Aylen Ayub was essential in setting up the Dons last week as she recorded 38 assists against LMU followed by another 39 assists against Pepperdine. Overall, she leads the team with 522 assists on the season and contributes to USF's total of 1014 assists this year, which ranks them third in the WCC.Â
- Continuing to shine this season, Claire Crijns had a big game against Pepperdine tallying 21 kills and 10 blocks. This performance was just prior to recording 13 kills and five blocks against LMU as the outside hitter had a high scoring week by totaling 43 points combined over the two games.Â
SCOUTING THE COUGARS:
- Coming off a sweep at home last week against Gonzaga and Portland, BYU is currently ranked second in the WCC with a strong record of 9-2 in conference as well as being ranked 18th overall in the nation. Â
- Leading the Cougars to their two straight wins, outside hitter Erin Livingston tallied 22 kills for her season high against Gonzaga on Oct. 27, followed by 14 more kills against Portland on Oct. 29 notably her 20th game putting up double digits in kills. She has accumulated 294 kills on the year ranking her fourth in the WCC.Â
- Overall this season, Whitney Bower has been a key asset in BYU's attack as she has recorded double digits in assists in every game she has played in. She leads the team with a total of 661 assists on the year, averaging 10.17 per set placing her fourth in conference standings.Â
SCOUTING THE TOREROS:
- The Toreros have stayed undefeated in conference play with just one loss on their overall record leading them to be ranked first in the WCC and second nationally. They continue to hold a 17 game winning streak and have swept their last nine opponents 3-0. Â
- USD tallied achievements in their most recent games as graduate student Gabby Blossom reached 4,000 career assists after recording 45 assists in their match against Portland on Oct. 27. Currently she leads the conference in assists per set with an average of 11.17.
- Additionally, in their sweep against Gonzaga on Oct. 29, redshirt senior Katie Lukes hit 1,200 career kills for the Toreros as she collected 17 kills in that match to reach the milestone. Overall this season, she has a total of 279 kills to rank her fifth in the WCC.
