DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • Last time out, USF cruised past Little Rock, 90-68, on Wednesday, Nov. 30 behind five Dons finishing in double figures: Khalil Shabazz (16 pts), Zane Meeks (14 pts), Isaiah Hawthorne (12 pts), Tyrell Roberts (12 pts) and Julian Rishwain (10 pts). As a team, USF knocked down thirteen shots from behind-the-arc, their second most in a game this season. Overall, the Dons led the Trojans in points in the paints (32-26), points off turnovers (21-14), second chance points (11-10), fast break points (8-2) and bench points.
  • As a unit, the Dons are known for their long-distance shooting as USF currently ranks third nationally in three-point attempts per game (30.9) and twentieth in three pointers made per game (10.2). Additionally, USF's 30.25 bench points per game is also good for fortieth in the country.
  • Individually, Shabazz has been a pest on the defensive end once again this season as the Seattle native currently ranks twelfth with 21 total steals while also sitting twentieth in steals per game with an average of 2.62.
  • Overall, USF is 2-0 all-time at the Chase Center having taken down Princeton 82-72 on Nov. 9, 2019 and Davidson 65-60 on Nov. 13, 2021. Sunday will mark USF's third contest all-time at the new home of the Warriors.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES:
  • As of Dec. 1, Utah State is one of only fifteen remaining undefeated teams in Division I. Impressively, the Aggies currently lead the nation in three-point field goal percentage (46.7 percent) and three-pointers made per game (12.8). Additionally, USU also ranks second in the nation in assists per game (21.3), second in bench points per game (41.7), fourth in effective field goal percentage (.605), fourth in defensive rebounds per game (31.50), eighth in scoring offense (87.8 points per game), 20th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.56-to-1.00), twenty-sixth in field goal percentage (.499), thirty-first in 3-point attempts per game (27.5), forty-second in rebounds per game (40.2) and forty-fifth in rebound margin (+7.2).
  • Individually, Utah State has two of the nation's top sharpshooters as guard Steven Ashworth currently leads Division I in three-pointers made per game (4.50) while forward Taylor Funk ranks fourth (4.00).
  • Similar to the Dons, the Aggies have had a different player lead the team in scoring in four of their six games so far this year as they have proven to be dangerous throughout their lineup. Notably, at least one Aggie has recorded a double-double in every game this season as well, with Funk tied for the team lead with two so far.
  • Back in November, USU defeated two WCC teams as the Aggies took down Santa Clara, 96-74, at home on Nov. 14 before handling San Diego, 91-89, on the road on Nov. 17.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Sunday's meeting between the Dons and the Aggies will mark the ninth meeting all-time between the two programs. USF currently holds a 6-2 advantage in the all-time series. The two teams last met on Dec. 29, 2003 in Logan as the Aggies beat the Dons, 74-48, at home.
