SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Following a tough battle against Pepperdine earlier in the week, the USF Dons women's tennis team (9-6, 2-2) got back in the win column as they were able to defeat the Gonzaga Bulldogs 4-1 on Friday afternoon at Golden Gate Park.

USF swept the doubles point winning both the completed matches, and they got individual victories from Maria Martinez Vaquero, Rita Colyer and Mya Bui to claim the remaining three points and the team victory.

CATCHING UP WITH COACH BARTLETT:
"Today was a tough match versus a real tough Gonzaga team. Our doubles point once again proved to be helpful in getting us some momentum. We then had hard fought and strong performances from Mya, Maria and Rita to clinch the match 4-0 in the clinch/clinch format."

UP NEXT:
The Dons are back home tomorrow morning for another conference match as they welcome the Portland Pilots (6-8, 1-2) to the Hilltop. Matches begin at 11:00 a.m. at Golden Gate Park.
