SCOUTING THE BRONCOS:
- Santa Clara is coming off a four-set match loss against LMU last Saturday. The Broncos took the second set, winning 28-26, but ultimately fell to the Lions in the third and fourth sets.
- Offensively, Sophia Tulino ranks fourth in the WCC, averaging 3.37 kills per set and has accumulated 202 kills throughout the season.
- From the service line, the Broncos lead the WCC in services aces per set, averaging 1.87 per set and tallying 133 service aces over 71 sets. Tulino and Anna Stucchi support the Broncos in this ranking, averaging 0.45 and 0.44 aces per set, respectively.
SCOUTING THE GAELS:
- Saint Mary's, swept by Portland in Moraga last Saturday, will travel to Stockton on Thursday before hosting San Francisco.
- The Gaels offer a solid defensive front, ranking second in the WCC, averaging 2.84 blocks per set.
- Offensively, the Gaels are led by Kristen Erland, who has recorded 127 kills over 72 sets and an average of .385 kills per set.
SERIES HISTORY
- San Francisco and Santa Clara have met 42 times on the court since 2002, with the Broncos holding a 29-13 advantage.
- The team has accumulated 13 wins against Saint Mary's since the 2002 season, with the last coming in a 3-1 win at home in 2022. The Gaels grabbed the first match this season, defeating the Dons at home on October 5.
