DONS AT A GLANCE:
- The Dons are coming off a narrow 77-69 loss at Arizona State last Monday at Desert Financial Arena. Falling behind early in the first half, the green and gold recovered throughout the third and fourth quarters, cutting into a double-digit deficit and outscoring the Sun Devils 42-35 in the second half.
- Four players scored in double figures, with Cami Fulcher leading the team with 18 points. Fulcher was lethal from distance during the contest, connecting on five of her eight attempts from the three-point line. Jasmine Gayles (17 points), Debora dos Santos (13 points), and Freja Werth (10 points) also contributed to the scoring efforts.
- Debora dos Santos grabbed nine rebounds at Arizona State, coming one shy of recording her second double-double of the season. In three games for the Dons, dos Santos has collected a team-high 34 rebounds, ranking her second in the WCC in total rebounds and rebounds per game (11.3).
SCOUTING THE RAINBOW WAHINE:
- Hawaii enters Friday's contest with a 0-2 record after falling to #13 Stanford and Santa Clara on the road in the season's first two games.
- The Rainbow Wahine are offensively led by Brooklyn Rewers, averaging 13.5 points per game through two games. Rewers scored a team-high 19 points in the loss at Santa Clara last Saturday.
- Defensively, Rewers also leads the team in rebounds, tallying 7.5 per game while accumulating three steals and one block.
SCOUTING THE TITANS:
- Cal State Fullerton enters the weekend with a 1-1 record after falling to Pacific in the season opener and earning a 61-51 win at Sacramento State last Sunday. The Titans will face Idaho on Friday before taking on the Dons on Sunday.
- Offensively, the Titans are led by two double-digit scorers, Ashlee Lewis and Demonnie Lagway, who are averaging 12 and 10 points per game, respectively.
- Lewis, a 6-1 center, also leads the team in rebounding, averaging 7.5 per game, while accumulating a team-leading three blocks through two games.
SERIES HISTORY:
- San Francisco and Hawaii have faced off eight times, dating back to the 1977-78 season, with the last meeting occurring during the 2012-13 season. The two programs have split the eight all-time meetings, winning four games apiece. The Dons won three straight from 1980-1988 and then won the most recent matchup, earning a 65-52 win over the Rainbow Wahine on November 9, 2012.
- San Francisco holds a 9-7 record over Cal State Fullerton, dating back to the first-ever meeting in the 1979-80 season. The last time the two programs faced off was on November 17, 2012, when the Dons dropped a narrow 60-55 decision to the Titans at home.
