SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - In a tough battle at home, the USF Dons women's tennis team (11-7, 3-3) fell to the San Diego Toreros (10-6, 4-0) by a final score of 5-2 this afternoon.

Two pairs, Maria Martinez Vaquero and Simran Chhabra and Caragh Courtney and Chiho Mushika secured wins in their doubles matches today to get the Dons on the scoreboard. Taking two victories, both in her doubles and singles matches of the day, Mushika improved her single record to 12-5 overall.

CATCHING UP WITH COACH BARTLETT:
"We ended up losing 5-2 to USD. It was super positive for our team to get the doubles point starting the match as that's been an area of improvement for our the team. Chiho Mushika was able to win her singles match in straight sets. San Diego is definitely a singles oriented team as they were very strong throughout. Arianna Capogrosso and Simran Chhbara were each able to put together respectable performances against a top 25 team. We will regroup a bit and look forward to facing Santa Clara next week. It was a quality match for us against a strong team in USD."

UP NEXT:
Competing in their last home match of the season, the Dons will face the Santa Clara Broncos (0-16, 0-5) on Saturday April 15, at 2:00 p.m.
