DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • Last time out, San Francisco wrapped up a three-game homestand with its fourth straight victory as the Dons downed Stanislaus State, 68-52, on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Notably, Ndewedo Newbury led the way for the Dons in the win over the Warriors as the forward finished with a game-high 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting while also tying his season-high with three blocks.
  • Two weeks away from the start of conference play, San Francisco sits at No. 49 in the NCAA's NET Rankings (through Dec. 13). Overall, the green and gold are one of three teams in the WCC in the top 50 behind Gonzaga (3) and Saint Mary's (33).
  • Within the conference, Malik Thomas' 17.0 points per game mark is the third-highest in the WCC as the guard also ranks ninth in the conference in both field goal percentage (47.8) and free throw percentage (79.7).
  • So far this season, San Francisco is 2-0 against Atlantic 10 teams as the Dons defeated fordham (85-64) on Nov. 26 and Saint Louis (78-61) on Dec. 5.
  • Across Division I, San Francisco ranks in the top 50 in scoring margin (38th), field goal percentage (38th), opponent field goal percentage (46th), effective field goal percentage (43rd, 56.1), and win percentage (T-38th, 80.0).
SCOUTING THE RAMBLERS:
  • San Francisco will look to blemish Loyola Chicago's perfect record as the Ramblers are one of seven undefeated teams across Division I heading into Sunday's matchup. However, the Ramblers have yet to play a Quad 1 game and have only played one non-Quad 4 game this season, with the Dons set to be Loyola Chicago's first Quad 1 test of the 2024-25 campaign.
  • Loyola Chicago will head into Milwaukee coming off a one-week break, most recently playing South Florida last Saturday, Dec. 7 as the Ramblers pulled off a close 74-72 victory.
  • Offensively, three Ramblers are averaging double figures this season: Des Watson (12.1), Jayden Dawson (12.0), and Sheldon Edwards Jr. (10.8).
  • Across the nation, Loyola Chicago is one of five teams in Division I averaging 20 assists per contest as Justin Moore is one of only 17 players in the country averaging six assists per game so far this season.
SERIES HISTORY:
Sunday's meeting between San Francisco and Loyola Chicago will be the seventh meeting all time between the two programs as the Ramblers hold a 4-2 lead in the all-time series. Most recently, the two schools matched up in a neutral site game at Salt Lake City Community College in Salt Lake City, Utah on Jan. 6, 2022. With the matchup coming together just a few days prior due to COVID-19 cancellations, Loyola Chicago went on to edge San Francisco, 79-74, in Salt Lake City.
