Men's Basketball Announces 2025-26 Nonconference Schedule

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco men's basketball program and head coach Chris Gerlufsen announced the team's nonconference schedule for the upcoming 2025-26 season on Tuesday morning.

"We are really excited to announce the nonconference schedule for the 2025-26 season," said Gerlufsen. "We feel like we've put together a challenging slate, full of opportunities to build our resume and prepare us for the highly challenging WCC. I know our staff and players are looking forward to showing all of the hard work they've been putting in to get ready for the upcoming year."

San Francisco will begin its season with an exhibition against Utah State at home on Oct. 25. Other home games to highlight during the nonconference schedule include a rematch with Bradley (Nov. 15) and Loyola Chicago (Dec. 17/Chase Center). Portland State (Nov. 12), Northwestern State (Nov. 18), North Alabama (Dec. 3), and Morgan State (Dec. 21) are also set to visit the Hilltop.

On the road, the Dons will first travel to Memphis on Nov. 8 for a return game, followed by a trip to Sioux Falls, SD for a neutral site battle with Minnesota at Sanford Pentagon on Nov. 22. Shortly thereafter, San Francisco will return to the state of California as USF will compete against Colorado in the Acrisure Series on Nov. 27, followed by a matchup against Nevada or Washington the following day - Nov. 28. Both games will be hosted at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert. Moving into December, San Francisco will travel to Tupelo, Miss., for a neutral site showdown against Mississippi State on Dec. 7 before heading to Saint Louis for a return game on Dec. 13.

Gerlufsen enters year four at the helm of the Dons after guiding San Francisco to postseason appearances the past two seasons. In 2024-25, USF finished 24-9 overall, including a 13-5 mark in conference play, as the green and gold finished in the top three in the WCC in back-to-back years for the first time in 22 years (2001-02 and 2002-03). The Dons went on to earn a one-seed in the 2025 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) as the host of the San Francisco region, which included a first-round win over Utah Valley.

Tyrone Riley IV, Ryan Beasley, Junjie Wang, and Veniamin Abosi highlight the returning student-athletes from last year's team, while San Francisco has also brought in a new group of transfers including, Mookie Cook (Oregon), David Fuchs (Rhode Island) Guillermo Diaz Graham (Pittsburgh), and Vukasin Masic (Portland).

Tip-off times and broadcast details for the 2025-26 season will be announced at a later date. The full 2025-26 San Francisco men's basketball schedule can be viewed here.
