DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • Ending a two-game skid, San Francisco defended home court this past Saturday with a gritty 87-82 win over Pacific at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. USF extended its winning streak over the Tigers to nine straight games, with David Fuchs scoring a career-high 30 points on 11-of-18 from the field while Ryan Beasley dished out a career-best 11 assists, the most assists by a Don since Jamaree Bouyea's 11-assist night against Pacific on Feb. 21, 2022.
  • Beasley's 11 assists against the Tigers are the most assists by a WCC player in conference play this season, and tie the most assists by a WCC player overall this year (Jan Vide, 11 assists vs. Arkansas Pine Bluff on Nov. 8).
  • San Francisco shot 30-for-61 (49.2 percent) from the field against Pacific, hitting 30 shots for the third time this season and improving to a perfect 9-0 this season when shooting at least 47.0 percent from the floor.
  • Dishing out 15 assists in each of the last two games, the Dons improved to 12-3 on the season and 5-1 in conference play when dishing out at least 13 assists as a squad.
  • With a month to play before the WCC Championship in Las Vegas, USF leaped UOP in the standings with Saturday's win, now sitting at fourth with a 6-5 record in conference play. San Francisco owns the head-to-head tiebreaker over Pacific and Washington State, having defeated both teams so far.
SCOUTING THE LIONS:
  • After climbing back late to secure an 84-82 double overtime win over USF on Jan. 8, LMU has lost six straight games, most recently falling to Santa Clara, 104-73, at home in Los Angeles on Saturday night. The Lions will visit the Hilltop looking to snap their longest losing streak in two years, and eyeing their first road victory since Nov. 17 (W, 78-74 OT at UC Santa Barbara).
  • In WCC action, four Lions are averaging double-figure scoring, led by sophomore forward Jalen Shelley's 13.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, both of which are team highs in league action.
  • USF will look to take advantage of LMU's defensive struggles as Lions opponents are shooting 37.8 percent from beyond the arc in WCC action, the highest opponent three-point percentage in the league. The Lions also rank second-to-last in opponent points per game, allowing 80.5 points per contest within league play.
  • On Wednesday night, LMU will look for its first win at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center in five years (Feb. 18, 2021), and its first win at San Francisco with fans in attendance since current USF assistant coach Frankie Ferrari's senior night on Mar. 2, 2019.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Wednesday night will mark the 173rd meeting all-time between San Francisco and LMU, with the Dons holding a 122-50 advantage in the series. In the first matchup this season, the Lions picked up their first win over the Dons in five years, as LMU squeezed out an 84-82 double overtime victory over USF in Los Angeles on Jan. 8, which saw Ryan Beasley score 32 points (career-high) in 43 minutes (career-high) of action.
