DONS AT A GLANCE:
  • San Francisco enters the weekend contest with a 14-9 overall record and is sixth in the West Coast Conference standings at 7-5. The green and gold are coming off a 76-67 victory on the road last Thursday at Seattle U to snap a two-game skid.
  • Candy Edokpaigbe, in her return to Redhawk Center for the first time in over a year, scored a game-high 24 points on 56.3 percent (nine-of-16) shooting. Along with her scoring, Edokpaigbe totaled five offensive rebounds and three steals.
  • Recording a near double-double, Noelia Mouriño recorded 13 points and nine rebounds in 28 minutes. Active on the boards during conference play, Mouriño leads the team and ranks sixth in the WCC at 7.3 rebounds per game.
  • Mara Neira and Meghan McIntyre also scored in double figures for the Dons, totaling 12 points apiece. In 17 minutes off the bench, McIntyre totaled 12 points for her fourth game this season with 10 or more points off the bench.
  • San Francisco outpaced Seattle U in points in the paint (38-26), second-chance points (16-10), fast break points (18-9), and bench points (20-3).
  • As a team through 23 games this season, San Francisco ranks fourth in the WCC in rebounding (39.4) and sixth in scoring (68.7).
SCOUTING THE GAELS:
  • Saint Mary's comes to the Hilltop looking to bounce back after consecutive losses, including a 75–69 defeat to LMU on Thursday, Feb. 5, despite a late comeback effort and a 68–42 road loss to Portland at the Chiles Center on Thursday, Jan. 29.
  • Abigail Shoff matched her season high with 18 points in the Gaels' latest outing, shooting 50 percent from the field and going seven-for-seven at the free throw line off the bench. She has reached double figures in six of her last seven games and leads the team in scoring at 8.5 points per game.
  • Junior transfer Charlece Ohiaeri made her third start as a Gael and delivered a season-high 11 points on efficient four-of-five shooting, finishing just one point shy of her career high.
  • The Gaels rely heavily on their depth, ranking first in the WCC and 27th nationally in bench scoring with an average of 26.6 points per game from their second unit.
  • Saint Mary's forced a season-high 17 steals in its most recent outing, with Shoff tying her career high with four steals and sophomore guard Any Kurkowski adding a career-best three. The Gaels average over 10 steals per game, ranking second in the WCC. Junior guard Jada Hunter sits second in the WCC, averaging 2.2 steals per game.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Saint Mary's leads the all-time series against San Francisco, holding a 49–34 advantage, including a narrow 52–49 win on February 8, 2025.
  • Prior to that, the Dons had won four straight matchups against the Gaels, most recently earning an 87–73 home victory on January 2, 2025.
