Justin Leach joined the University of San Francisco athletic department in June 2012 as assistant director of performance and head strength and conditioning coach, and was promoted to assistant athletic director of performance in the fall of 2016. In his role, Leach is responsible for the performance development of the Dons’ student-athletes. 
 
Prior to joining the USF staff, he was the performance director at Results Physical Therapy and Training Center and Velocity Sports Performance in Sacramento, Calif. for five years, where he helped improve the performance for athletes of all sports. While at Velocity, he developed under Olympic speed dynamics coach, Loren Seagrave, and his curriculum of speed and movement mechanics.
 
Leach also had stops at UC Davis, David High School and Sacramento City College, working with the football programs at each school.
 
He received his bachelor of science in psychology from UC Davis with an emphasis in health and sports psychology and earned his master of science degree in performance enhancement and injury prevention at the California University of Pennsylvania. He maintains his CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification through the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) and carries his USAW Level I Club Coach Certification through the United States Weightlifting Association.
 
His hobbies include attending his son, JT’s, track and soccer events, live music, cycling, running, hiking, fishing, and reading professional and personal development books.
