Jake Aganus

Jake Aganus began working at the University of San Francisco as an associate athletic trainer in August of 2013 and was promoted to head athletic trainer in February of 2015 before departing the Dons in 2016. Along with his supervisory duties, Aganus is responsible for the athletic training care of men's basketball and the USF spirit squad.

Aganus received his master's of science in exercise science and health promotion through the Rehabilitation Track from California University of Pennsylvania in 2012 after he completed his bachelor's of science in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training from San Jose State University in 2010. During his time at San Jose State, Aganus worked with Spartan football, men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, and gymnastics teams. Jake also spent time as an intern for various public and private high schools, the San Jose Sabercats and the Oakland Raiders.

Prior to coming to USF, Aganus was an assistant athletic trainer for Cal State East Bay's men's and women's soccer teams and baseball team. Prior to his appointment at CS East Bay, Jake was an athletic trainer for a physical therapy clinic in Palo Alto, Calif.

Aganus is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and the Far West Athletic Trainer's Association. He holds his certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is certified in CPR/AED with the American Heart Association.

Jake resides in San Leandro, Calif., and enjoys running, hiking and exploring new places to eat.
