Dons 43 strokes behind first place Missouri
Final Round Results
RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. -- The USF men's golf team opened its spring season with an eighth place finish at The Farms Intercollegiate Invitational held on the challenging Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe.
The Dons carded a final round 306 (+18) on Tuesday to finish at 915 for the 54-hole event, 43 strokes behind first place Missouri. The Tigers shot a final round 291 to clip Saint Mary's by three strokes to earn the team title.
Missouri's Emilio Cuartero took medalist honors with a final score of 215 (-1), earning a one stroke victory over Jack Mulroy of Fresno State and Martin Keskari of Santa Clara.
Jobim Carlos was USF's top finisher, tying for 13th place at 224 (+8). Carlos shot a final round 77 to finish just outside the top-10.
Senior Taylor Travis tied for 18th after shooting an even par 72 on Tuesday, following rounds of 76 and 77 to open the tournament.
Cory McElyea shot a final round 76 to finish at 230 (+14) for the tournament, good for a tie for 28th place.
Alika Bell tied for 42nd at 236 (+20) after a final round 81 while Dash Lindsell finished 69th after posting a 81 over his final 18 holes.
